Trump Administration 2.0 – The Good, Part One

Pink Moon, 12 April 2025

Donald Trump is dominating news in the United States, so I will comment on his administration's actions at the beginning of his second presidential term. This is the first of a multi-part series, wherein I alternately discuss what I believe the second Trump administration is doing right, and what it is doing wrong. This month I discuss three things his administration is doing right: clamping down on illegal immigration, fighting back against anti-white & anti-male discrimination, and clemency for January 6th rally convictions.

The first good initiative that the Trump administration is taking is clamping down on illegal immigration (an invasion encouraged by the Joe Biden administration) and the deportation of said illegal immigrants.

This invasion of illegal aliens is undermining the economic foundations of the United States. The glut of compliant, low-skill laborers has lowered wages for the average working class citizen. The presence of illegal aliens has driven up the cost of housing. They drain the education, medical, and welfare systems of resources that should be given to the citizens who actually paid for such services.

The invasion also undermines the cultural foundations of the United States. The most concerning part of this cultural degradation is the illegal immigrants’ preference for big government and reliance on government handouts. This is anathema to the ethos of self-reliance on which the United States is based. Another major cultural issue is their resistance to assimilation. This is perhaps best exemplified by those who refuse to learn the English language.

All this leads to the question: why has this been allowed, or even encouraged, to happen? It is hard to meaningfully answer this question without being accused of conspiratorial thinking. This invasion occurs because of powerful people who have contempt for the average American citizen. Among these powerful people are corporations and the wealthy seeking cheap labor, and socialists seeking future voters.

A country without borders is not a country. I applaud the Trump administration for reversing the tide of illegal immigration. That being said, I must comment on the lack of due process when it comes to recent deportations. This will be a topic in a future post.

The second good initiative of the Trump administration is the (hopeful) ending of institutionalized anti-white & anti-male discrimination. This hostility to whites and men has been a plague upon the governmental, commercial, educational, medical, and artistic institutions of the United States for over 50 years. Employment and admission to educational institutions should be based on merit, the ability to do the job, not skin color or chromosomes. Such discrimination not only harms whites and men, but also non-whites and women. Though we are not allowed to say it openly, we all expect inferior performance from non-whites and women because of we know many of them have been placed into their positions because preferential treatment.

This discrimination has absolved non-whites of taking responsibility for their lives. Our society is nearing an inflection point where complex systems fail because of institutionalized incompetence. A system based on racial preferences discourages civic nationalism and encourages tribalism.

Given these destructive effects, any rational person would ask the question: why has this been allowed, or encouraged, to happen? Again, answering this question leads to accusations of conspiratorial thinking. Clearly, non-whites benefit. So do politicians who pander for their votes. But these groups alone cannot be the only, or sufficient, cause.

All that being said, I need to qualify my commendation. Though the Trump administration is making laudable efforts to combat the pernicious discrimination described above, it is also enshrining (or perhaps amplifying) another category of unwarranted preferential treatment. The new administration brooks no criticism or Israel or Zionists. The administration is going full speed to suppress, even deport, anyone who dares to speak out about Israeli atrocities in Gaza, or Israeli influence on Congress. This will be a topic of a future post.

The final Trump administration initiative that I would like to commend in this post is its granting of clemency to those convicted of so-called crimes at the January 6th, 2021 rally in Washington, DC. Those attending the rally were clearly the victims of political show trials. There is plenty of evidence that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from Donald Trump. There is plenty of evidence that the rally was a “set-up”. Protestors were, after all, actually invited into the Capitol building by security staff. The prosecution of the protesters was marred by flaws in due process. Their punishments were disproportionate. The January 6th committee in Congress was clearly on a mission to destroy Donald Trump and they were willing to sacrifice over 1500 citizens in their vendetta against him. Perhaps the most damning of the committee’s actions were its destruction of evidence and refusal to release video tapes of the event.

Next month’s post will discuss initiatives of the Trump administration that I believe are wrong.
